Behind the find
Resident Evil 0 follows Bravo Team medic Rebecca Chambers and escaped prisoner Billy Coen through a contaminated train and Umbrella facility. The first Resident Evil then follows Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine into the Spencer Mansion, where the missing-team investigation uncovers the same larger threat.
Together, these stories connect a local murder investigation to secret viral research. The train and mansion turn ordinary travel and shelter into traps, establishing the clues, limited supplies and uneasy exploration that define Resident Evil's early outbreaks.
