Behind the find
Umbrella sells the promise of better health while secretly developing biological weapons. In the first Resident Evil, the Spencer Mansion conceals one of its laboratories. The familiar red-and-white emblem turns up on research files, equipment and facilities: a corporate signature behind the horror.
Umbrella's viral research lies at the heart of the 1998 Raccoon City disaster. Its collapse does not erase the damage: stolen samples, former researchers and weapons derived from its work continue to shape later outbreaks. The logo carries that history wherever it appears.
