Lore, origin and why it matters

Umbrella’s public face

Umbrella presents itself as a pharmaceutical company dedicated to preserving people’s health. Behind that promise, it develops viruses and biological weapons, including the research that devastates Raccoon City. The red-and-white emblem carries that contradiction: an ordinary corporate logo attached to some of Resident Evil’s worst disasters.
