Behind the find
The Raccoon Police Department is central to Resident Evil 2. Its headquarters occupies a former art museum, explaining the grand main hall, sculptures and unusually elaborate locks. Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield reach it expecting shelter, only to find that the outbreak has already breached its corridors.
Barricades, officers' notes and abandoned workspaces tell the story of a police force overwhelmed by the 1998 outbreak. Marvin Branagh's efforts to help the survivors give the R.P.D. emblem a human meaning: people trying to protect the city as their own safe haven falls apart.
