Toluca Lake lies beside Silent Hill's resort district and the Lakeview Hotel, where James and Mary Sunderland once stayed together. In Silent Hill 2, Mary's letter asks James to return to their 'special place,' turning the lakeside landscape into a map of memory and longing.
