Behind the find
Red Pyramid Thing, usually called Pyramid Head, stalks James Sunderland in Silent Hill 2. His form recalls the town's historical executioners, but his role belongs to James's personal nightmare: guilt and a need for punishment given a physical shape.
The angular helmet hides any readable face, while the enormous Great Knife turns pursuit into something heavy and inexorable. Together they make Pyramid Head feel like a sentence following James through the town.
