Lore, origin and why it matters

A writer trapped in his own story

Alan Wake comes to Bright Falls with his wife Alice, hoping to escape his writer’s block. When she disappears, he finds pages from a thriller he cannot remember writing—and watches their events unfold around him. A flashlight becomes as vital as a firearm against the people claimed by the darkness.
